Case Study

Brand Awareness: LBJI

Group 1-7

Client Profile & Goal

Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute (LBJI) is the largest orthopedic practice in Northwest Indiana, with six general practice locations and three urgent care centers. The primary goal was to increase patient traffic to both the general orthopedic practices and urgent care centers.

Group 1-6

The Solution

Despite LBJI’s strong presence in the region, there had been no formal assessment of brand awareness. We conducted a brand awareness study across three counties to evaluate top-of-mind recognition, familiarity, source attribution, and public perception of LBJI. Additionally, we included questions to gauge respondents’ overall understanding of orthopedic care.

Group 1-1

The Challenge

The study revealed that while LBJI had strong brand recognition, there was significant room to expand its audience. About one-quarter of respondents were unfamiliar with orthopedic care in the region, and approximately three-fourths were unfamiliar with urgent care centers.

Group 1-8

The Results

The findings led to strategic adjustments in the marketing approach. First, recognizing that many respondents had a limited understanding of orthopedic care, we continued using familiar terms while developing additional content to educate the public on LBJI’s full range of services. Second, we sustained integrated brand awareness campaigns targeting key patient personas. Finally, we reallocated the budget and creative resources to emphasize promoting the urgent care centers, increasing both awareness and engagement.
